When and How to watch live the 92nd Oscar ceremony online
The 92nd Academy Awards will take place at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Despite more than a decade of the Awards being given out towards the end of February, this year's ceremony has been moved forward, and takes place on Sunday 9 February.
British film and TV fans might want to consider taking a day off work if they're to stay up and watch the show live.
The ceremony takes place on the evening of Sunday 9 February in America, meaning it will be the early hours of Monday morning for Brits tuning in.
At the time of writing, it's not yet been confirmed if any UK broadcaster will have the rights to transmit the show on this side of the pond.
But in previous years, Sky has aired the show live on Sky Cinema on the Sunday night and early Monday morning, with highlights of the ceremony shown at a much more palatable time of 9pm on the Monday.
In 2019, the Oscars went hostless for the first time in three decades after original booking Kevin Hart was forced to step down because of homophobic tweets he posted nearly a decade ago resurfaced.
Instead of a single host opening with a humorous monologue before starting the show off proper, the ceremony was instead solely in the hands of guest presenters who came along to deliver each award.
There were also added musical numbers to make up for the lack of a host - audiences were treated to a performance from Queen + Adam Lambert reflecting Bohemian Rhapsody's big screen success to open the show - and the whole thing seemed to offer a fresh take on the ceremony formula.
The Academy have confirmed that they are opting to take the same approach in 2020, tweeting that while the show will feature "stars", "performances", and "surprises", there will once again be no host.
Karey Burke from Oscars ABC also confirmed "there will be no traditional host this year", as the network ABC had been "extremely happy" with how last year's ceremony had turned out.
